Panama City Beach, FL Inshore And Offshore Fishing Report

Report Date: May 8, 2013

The last week has been great. The bait has found its way back into the bay and so have the fish. We are catching just about all the regular summer species now. The Trout have made their move back onto the flats along with the Red fish. The Bluefish and Spanish mackerel are all over the bay. All of these can be caught on live bait or artificial. The live bait of choice is Pilchards if you can catch them…a good second choice is live shrimp. The Pompano are still making a good showing on the beach.

Speaking of the beach we are still catching a few Cobia and lots of Jacks. The Cobia should still be here till the end of the month. We are also starting to see Kings on the beach and on near shore structures.

Offshore we are catching Vermillion Snapper, White Snapper, Grouper, Amberjack, and Banded Rudderfish.

It is really starting to shape up to be a great summer.

Panama City Fishing Forecast:

The Kings are starting to show up and Cobia should still be here for a couple more weeks. Just about all the summer species are here. The Tarpon should be here soon.

Good luck on the water,
Capt. Todd Jones
